Creative Process

S.T.O.P. founder, Brenda George, approached THE PRESS FACTORY with a need for a new site. They are a non-profit that seeks to eliminate teen suicide. The Press Factory gives them a special rate to support this important cause. If you have a non-profit that is in need of graphic design, printing or web design, give us a call and we will see if The Press Factory is a good fit for you and possibly save you money that can then be reallocated to important community work.

Stopglobal.org is a site design that was near and dear to the heart. S.T.O.P was founded by BL and Brenda George, a pastor and his wife, who is also a minister, who live in The Press Factory community. S.T.O.P. stands for Stop Talk Overcome Pain. It is a teen suicide prevention initiative that functions currently in Texas school districts through student assemblies. It has been wildly successful in coaxing at risk students to come forward and ask for the help they so desperately need before doing something drastic. S.T.O.P. is growing exponentially since receiving its non-profit status.

The Press factory was already handling the graphic design for the George’s church, New Birth Church, in Freeport, TX, so it was a natural progression for us to do the website for S.T.O.P. The logo was provided at no charge by a

member of the church, and The Press Factory worked to form the site style and esthetic to match the logo, and to be pleasing to grade school students, teachers, and parents creating a S.T.O.P. brand.

Time Management

Time management was established through weekly reports to the client delivered by email and sometimes text messages due to the time constraints of the client’s busy lifestyle.

User Testing

Site development and user testing was started on the actual site address (URL) with a coming soon page set as the landing page until construction was finished. The customer could examine progress along the way, with the understanding that the design was a fluid process and what was seen on the site initially, a theme

template, would change dramatically by the end of the design process.

The client also needed to be able to post to Facebook and video on Facebook live and have the video auto post to the site. A social media posting plugin was installed and tested

Project Management

The Press Factory managed the construction of the site though a detailed User Requirements form that we produced after the first meeting. This allows designers and coders to quote jobs as accurately as possible by staying in scope of the project. New User Requirements and estimates were formed as we moved forward each time the client decided to deviate from the original projected course or added additional requirements to the project.
